Diet: flies, small frogs, small salamanders, other insects
Venus flytraps (& other meat eating plants) eat, because they live in bogs which are poor in nutrients. In these environments venus flytraps and other plants evolved traps so they get their proper nutrients , lets look how a fly trap works. The blood red in the mouth is nectar, the nectar lures the prey . When the prey gets on the trap it will touch two hairs & motor cells inside & outside the trap signal it to snap shut. SNAP! and digest it.
Diet: rats,birds,bats,lizards,birds,insects
Pitcher plants are big! Basically all meat eating plants use nectar as lure. The lip on the pitcher plant secrete nectar. The prey slip on the lip and fall in . Poor footing hairs on the wall prevent escape. The prey drown in water & digestive fluids and digest it.
Diet: insects
The sundews shiny dew drops attract the prey . The prey will get stuck on the leafs because a sticky substance also in the dew called musalage makes the leafs sticky. The struggling from the prey will trigger the sundew to roll up on the prey and crush it to death & digest it.
